About the Program:

The Wisconsin Hispanic Scholarship Foundation, Inc. / Mexican Fiesta is pleased to announce the WHSF Leadership Fellow Program, designed for undergraduate students or recent graduates (18-23 years old) from 2- or 4-year WI Colleges/Universities.

This program aims to provide emerging leaders in the Hispanic community with the opportunity to gain valuable experience, build leadership skills, and contribute to the foundation’s efforts in supporting Hispanic students and cultural initiatives.

As a Leadership Fellow, you will gain hands-on experience through outreach, volunteering and participating in community events. You’ll also play a key role in developing our merchandise campaign this year, contributing to the creative vision of Mexican Fiesta 2025. Fellows will collaborate with the team to design and promote festival merchandise, engage in marketing efforts, and ensure the success of this important aspect of the festival. You’ll have the chance to network with professionals, enhance your public speaking abilities, and engage in meaningful community service, all while receiving exciting incentives for your participation.

MERCHANDISE & MARKETING SUPPORT

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT 

Program Duration:

• The program lasts from May 1st, 2025 to September 30th, 2025

• Fellows are required to reapply each year if they wish to continue in the program

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be a current student enrolled in an undergraduate 2- or 4-year institution or a recent graduate from a WI College/University

• Must be between the ages of 18-23 before the start of the program

• Must reside in Milwaukee County for duration of the program (or have a reliable form of transportation)

• Must have a reliable form of transportation

• Proficient in Spanish

Program Requirements:

• Must Attend a Mandatory Training & Pre-Mexican Fiesta Meeting

  • Training: Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 (10am-12pm)

    • Mexican Fiesta Office (2997 S. 20th St. Milwaukee, WI 53215)

  • Meeting: August 9th, 2025 (10am – 12pm)

    • Location: TBD

• Must be available to Volunteer 8-10 hours during Mexican Fiesta 2025 @Merchandise Booth

  • August 22-24th, 2025

• Must Attend & Table a minimum of 2 Outreach Tabling Events to promote the mission and programs of WHSF

• Must Attend a minimum of 2 WHSF events throughout the program year

Program Incentives:

• WHSF Leadership Fellow Title

• A Letter of Recommendation from the Executive Director upon successful completion of the program

• A WHSF/Mexican Fiesta Brand Kit to help promote your role as a leadership ambassador

• Free 3-Day Admission to Mexican Fiesta + meal vouchers

• A Family Ticket Package (4-6 tickets) for Mexican Fiesta 2025

• Admission Tickets to other United Ethnic Festivals (Summerfest, Irish Fest, German Fest, Festa Italiana, Pride Fest etc.)

• 1 Team Outing (e.g., Brewers, Bucks, or Wave game)

• Exclusive access to the Mexican Fiesta End-of-Year Volunteer Gala
