Teresa C. Mercado

Born in Jalisco, México and moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the age of 22, Mrs. Mercado started as a volunteer for the foundation twenty four years ago. As her passion grew for the community, so did her involvement with the foundation and in 2002 she was appointed Executive Director of WHSF. During her twenty four years with WHSF she has become a dynamic Latina leader within her community. Her passion for education, drive to improve the community, and determination to make things happen, are all evident by the accomplishments made over the years for the foundation.

Laura Vazquez
Marketing & Office Administrator
Laura got involved with the WHSF as a volunteer in 2004. She was awarded the scholarship three consecutive years and was an active volunteer all year-round. In 2010, Laura joined our team as the Marketing Administrator. During Mexican Fiesta, she is also in charge of the logistics for transportation and lodging for all the main entertainment and cultural groups. Her dedication to sharing our culture and traditions to the new generations is one of her biggest virtues.

Andreas Mercado
Operations & Executive Assistant
Mexican Fiesta has always played a major role in Andreas’s life. As a recent college graduate from UW Oshkosh, Andreas wanted to come back to Milwaukee and serve the community that has given her so much. She feels so honored to have been given the opportunity to carry on the Mexican Fiesta legacy and continue to contribute to this organization and the city she grew up in. She is very proud to be Mexican- American and be able to represent and celebrate her culture, while working to give the same opportunities to others in her community.
