DIA DE REYES
MEXICAN FIESTA’S ANNUAL CELEBRATION OF THREE KINGS DAY
(DIA DE LOS REYES MAGOS)
WHAT:A traditional celebration will take place at the Mexican Fiesta office in honor of the day of the three kings. The celebration will start with a viewing of a traditional holiday movie in Spanish followed by a mass. Children in attendance will be required to bring their shoe (as part of the tradition) on January 2 & 5, 2009 which will be returned to them with a present on the Dia de los Reyes celebration on January 10th, 2009. Families in attendance will enjoy our traditional rosca de reyes (traditional bakery used for this celebration) and much more!! Please help us to keep this tradition alive by attending and taking part in this wonderful tradition. Last year more than 600 gifts were donated to children in our community…. This year our goal is to make sure EVERY child in our community has at least one present to open from The Three Kings (Los tres Reyes Magos.)

Toys and monetary donations must be sent or dropped off at Mexican Fiesta office located at 1220 W. Windlake Ave. Milwaukee, WI 53215 before Friday, December 19, 2008. (Please make check payable to: Mexican Fiesta.)
All donations will go towards the “The Three Kings-Los Tres Reyes Magos” event.

WHO: All families and children are invited to come and celebrate the day of the three kings with a traditional celebration of gift giving, mass celebration, and the traditional cutting of the rosca de reyes with champurrado.

The Wisconsin Hispanic Scholarship Foundation (WHSF) provides a cultural and educational environment to enhance and improve academic success of the Hispanic Community while promoting a better understanding of the arts, history, literature and the Mexican/Hispanic culture. WHSF assists in opening opportunities for advancement of the quality of life among Hispanics. To date, WHSF has provided over $700,000 in college scholarships.
