Welcome to the Mexican Roots in Wisconsin
"Generations" Project
Mexican Fiesta 2007 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting festivals in recent memory, and now Mexican Fiesta is inviting you to get in on the action by submitting photographs of your family’s history! The cultural area at Mexican Fiesta is adding a new exhibit that will allow all participants to have a chance to display their family’s history in a series of photographs that will be put on display for the duration of the festival. Each family that submits photographs will be placed on display for all participants to view. The exhibit will allow participants to experience the history of a Mexican Family’s sacrifice, dreams, growth, culture, and legacy by taking the emotional trip from the beginning of a family journey to the present.
Along with the exhibit there will be a chance for everyone who visits the Cultural Village to find information about their family's history by speaking to a Professional Genealogist that will be on hand to help trace your family roots. So not only will everyone have the chance to tell their story by submitting their photographs, but everyone will have the opportunity to find out more information about your own family’s history. All this, as well as so much more will be offered in the Cultural Area a Mexican Fiesta 2007.

What is the Generations Project?
The Generations Project is an exhibit that will link the success and achievement that the current generation is undergoing with the dream and sacrifice that previous generations worked hard to provide. The exhibit will honor and showcase Mexican Families through the collection of still photographs to create a photographic timeline. The timeline will provide a glimpse into the journey that a family has undertaken from past generations to the current. Along with the families that will be placed on display at Mexican Fiesta, all the photographs submitted will be a part of a digital photographic timeline that will also be on display at Mexican Fiesta. The digital display will also be available for viewing on the Mexican Fiesta website. Its purpose is to honor the many sacrifices and achievements that the Mexican family has undergone through the generations, and showcase these as an exhibit that will be open to the public at the 2007 Mexican Fiesta.
